Asics Skateboarding USA Release 8/18

Asics Skateboarding Releases 2nd Round of footwear for the USA

Asics Skateboarding has been dropping skate kicks since 2020 in Japan. Then in July, the label dropped its inaugural collection of sneakers for the USA market. The initial lineup included the Gel-Flexkee Pro, Aaron Pro, Japan Pro and the Gel-Vickka Pro. For August, Asics Skateboarding is releasing a second rounds skate sneakers. This time the lineup includes the Aaron Pro in Cream/Shamrock, the Gel-Vikka Pro in Ironclad Blue & the Japan Pro in Black/White. The range also includes a sneaker not seen in July that is built on the same sole as the Aaron Pro with simpler upper. Unlike that of the Swoosh and even the Three Stripes, ASICS’ skateboarding division is still extremely young. Though launched back in 2020 — just ahead of the sport’s debut on the world stage — the line-up has yet to make its way out of Japan. That, however, is about to change very soon, as the Japanese footwear brand has linked up with Gino Iannucci, Akwasí Owusu, and Emile Laurent to announce that the sub-label is about to go global.
