New Balance is proud to present the Numeric 442—a shoe that bridges two worlds. Drawing inspiration from iconic football models in the New Balance archive, the 442 has been thoughtfully reimagined for skateboarding. It's a combination that honors heritage while delivering the performance skaters demand.
The name itself tells the story: a nod to football's classic formations, now adapted for the streets and skate parks.
Design Details That Matter
Every element of the Numeric 442 was designed with skateability in mind. The pig suede upper is reinforced with added TPU protection underneath, providing the durability and support needed for serious skating sessions. A fold-over, branded tongue draws inspiration directly from football boots, while elastic wings keep the tongue centered for a locked-in fit that won't shift mid-trick.
The heritage "N" branding features debossed stitching for a classic aesthetic, and the NB# branding on the heel completes the look. Colorways are inspired by historic Numeric collections, giving the 442 a timeless appeal that connects past to present.
