To celebrate the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026™ hosted across North America, adidas Skateboarding unites two iconic cultural institutions — Thrasher Skateboard Magazine and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) — for a collaboration rooted in heritage, identity, and creative expression.
Founded in San Francisco in 1981 by Argentine-born Fausto Vitello, Thrasher Magazine has spent the last forty-five years shaping not only skateboarding, but the culture surrounding it. Built on authenticity, rebellion, and individuality, Thrasher became a global symbol for skateboarding’s raw spirit while influencing generations far beyond the streets and skateparks.
Now, ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, adidas Skateboarding brings together Thrasher’s Argentine roots, the legacy of the reigning World Cup champions, and a collective of adidas riders who have helped define skateboarding’s evolution.
At its core, the collaboration reflects the shared DNA between skateboarding and football — creativity, rhythm, precision, and personal style. Whether carving through city streets or dancing across a pitch, both worlds thrive on innovation and self-expression.
The nine-piece capsule merges the heritage of each partner into a unified visual language. Classic Argentine colors and iconic AFA detailing blend seamlessly with Thrasher’s unmistakable identity, creating a collection that feels both timeless and forward-looking.
Leading the collection is a standout football jersey inspired by Argentina’s iconic 1994 World Cup® kit — the last World Cup hosted in the United States. Built around the legendary diamond pattern, the collared jersey combines the distinguished AFA crest with the unmistakable Thrasher logo, creating an instant classic that bridges skateboarding and Argentine football culture.
The Chino pants feature embroidered AFA monogram detailing throughout.
Footwear arrives in the form of the adidas Skateboarding Glenburn — a timeless silhouette influenced by classic soccer styling and designed for skate functionality. Constructed with leather and suede, the Glenburn features a dual-layered toe cap for durability, a lightweight build, and a plimsole-inspired outsole for grip and board feel. Subtle collaboration details include Thrasher branding at the heel, three-star detailing honoring Argentina’s three World Cup® victories, and an AFA crest prominently placed on the tongue.
